Description
Silicon nitride bearing balls combine high strength, wear resistance, corrosion resistance, high-temperature capability, electrical insulation and non-magnetic behaviour — properties metals cannot match. They are chemically stable: apart from hydrofluoric acid they do not react with other inorganic acids, they are oxidation-resistant, they are not wetted by most non-ferrous melts (especially molten aluminium), and they withstand intense radiation exposure. Ball dimensions can be customised to customer requirements.
Key features
- Chemically stable — resists all inorganic acids except HF
- Not wetted by molten non-ferrous metals, especially aluminium
- Withstands intense radiation
- Electrically insulating, non-magnetic
Applications
Chemical processing equipment and pumps.
